Last updated: 31 October 2026. In short: Pacelings doesn't collect any data about you. There is no account and no Pacelings server.

2. The short version
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your runs and health data stay on your devices and in Apple Health. Pacelings never syncs them through iCloud and never sends them to us. Like all app data, they can be part of your device backup.
- Your plan settings, your Paceling and your postcards sync through your own private iCloud.
- This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
3. Health data
With your permission, Pacelings reads running workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate and your date of birth (only to estimate your maximum heart rate) from Apple Health to build and adapt your training plan. To explain each run, it also reads running form (cadence from steps, stride length, ground contact time, vertical oscillation), running power, active energy, cardio fitness and heart rate recovery when your watch measures them; these values are only shown and never stored by Pacelings. It saves runs you record in the app to Health.
How a run felt, whether something hurt, your heart rate zones and announced breaks stay on your device.
When a new run arrives in Health, Pacelings may check it in the background to tell you that your run story is ready; the notification only names distance and time. The run story draws your route from Health while you look at it and doesn't store it. If you share a run story card, only what you see on the card leaves your device (distance, pace, time, kilometer bars and the route without its first and last 250 m), and only to where you send it.
4. Blood glucose
If you turn on “Show Blood Glucose” in the settings, Pacelings reads blood glucose from Apple Health and shows it while you run and in the run details, only as a display, without alarms or advice. The values are kept in memory while you look at them and are never stored by Pacelings, never stored in iCloud and never sent to us or anyone else. You can turn it off at any time.
5. Location and maps
While you record a run, Pacelings uses your location to measure distance, pace and elevation. The route is saved to Health with your run. Pacelings doesn't use your location at any other time.
Maps in the run details and on the route screen are provided by Apple (MapKit). To show them, your device loads map tiles for the area from Apple. See Apple's privacy policy.
6. iCloud
Your plan settings (including rounded values you confirm from your runs: weekly volume, longest run and 5 km time), your Paceling and your postcards are stored in your own private iCloud database, so they're there when you get a new iPhone. Only you can access this data, we can't. You can turn this off in the iPhone Settings under your name, iCloud.
7. Apple Watch, widgets and Live Activities
The iPhone sends your plan settings, your Paceling and your heart rate zones directly to your Apple Watch (WatchConnectivity), never through a server. Widgets, the complication and the Live Activity show your Paceling, today's run and the way to the next station; they show no health data except pace and distance during a run.
8. App Store
Pacelings reads its own App Store transaction on your device to remember when you first installed it. Nothing is sent to us. Downloads and any purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
9. This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) on Cloudflare Pages. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, date and time, the page requested and your browser, to deliver the page and protect it from attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We don't keep these logs ourselves; Cloudflare deletes them after a short time according to its own retention periods. We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare; transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We don't use cookies, analytics or tracking on this website, and fonts and images come from this website itself.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you and delete them when they're no longer needed.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Since we don't store data about you, there is usually nothing to hand over.
Right to object: where we process data based on legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Just email us. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
You decide what Pacelings may read and save in the Health app under Profile, Apps, Pacelings, and location access in the iPhone Settings. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. Data in Health and iCloud stays under your control there.
11. Children
Pacelings is not directed at children under 13.
12. Changes
If Pacelings changes how it handles data, we'll update this page first and change the date above.
