Pacelings

Blood glucose

Running with diabetes

You know the questions: how far will this run take me down, and what happens tonight? If you wear a CGM, Pacelings puts your blood glucose right next to your run. On your wrist while you run, on the map of your route, and in the run details afterwards. Free, no account, nothing new to buy.

What you see

  • While you run: your latest value with its time and trend arrow, on Apple Watch and iPhone.
  • On the map: your values along the route, right where you were when your CGM measured them.
  • After the run: how much your glucose changed and in which part of the run, the curve from 30 minutes before to 3 hours after, and the lowest value in the 6 hours after.
  • That night: after afternoon and evening runs, the lowest value between midnight and 6 am.
  • Your usual range: after three runs of the same kind, you see how this one compares, for easy runs, hard sessions and free runs.
  • Carbs and insulin: if an app like MacroFactor, Loop or Trio logs them in Apple Health, they appear as small marks in your glucose curve. Pacelings only reads them, it never logs or calculates anything.

Which CGMs work

Any CGM whose app writes blood glucose to Apple Health. How fast the values arrive depends on that app:

  • Live: apps like Loop, Trio or xDrip4iOS write right away, so you see your glucose during the run.
  • Three hours later: the Dexcom G7 app, Eversense and Stelo write with a delay. You see the full picture after the run, as soon as Health has the values.
  • Not in Health: the FreeStyle Libre app and Medtronic currently don't write to Apple Health.

As of November 2026. If your CGM app writes to Health, Pacelings reads it, whichever brand it is.

What Pacelings doesn't do

Pacelings shows your values and nothing else. No alarms, no target ranges, no warning colors, no advice on insulin or carbs. It is not a medical device and not meant for treatment decisions. For alarms, please keep using your CGM app or receiver.

Your data

Blood glucose stays off until you turn it on. Pacelings then reads it from Apple Health, keeps it in memory while you look at it and never stores it, never puts it in iCloud and never sends it to us or anyone else. There is no account. Details in our privacy policy.

Turn it on

In Pacelings, open Settings, then Running & Health, and turn on Show Blood Glucose. Pacelings asks once to read blood glucose from Health. Questions? Write to us at [email protected].
